Sulmar's Trans-Atlantic Voyage

Welcome to Sulmar's website.  Gillian and Robin Cay took a career break to sail their yacht 'Sulmar' from Scotland to the Caribbean, via various ports in Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, and the Canary Islands. We left Scotland in July 2001, and made our way to Gibraltar where we joined Blue Water Rally. We sailed to Tenerife and after 9 days, we set off for our trans-Atlantic passage. We crossed the Atlantic in 21 days, arriving in Antigua on December 6th. We spent six months exploring the Caribbean before returning home. We have had fantastic experiences, seen amazing places, met wonderful people and most importantly come back safely. We have complete faith in Sulmar, a Scanmar 35, who has proved to be extremely seaworthy in all that the elements have thrown at her. If you would find out more about our adventures, please click on Captain's Log. It is arranged in reverse chronological order.
